Yesterday brought a few very interesting iOS 5.1 Jailbreak updates, pod2g revealed that he has achieved an untethered Jailbreak on the 3rd-generation iPad running 5.1. Additionally, he was planning on testing the Jailbreak on 5.1.1 and revealed that a release is still “weeks away”.
Following pod2g’s Tweet from earlier today, in which he announced the iOS 5.1 untethered Jailbreak is now compatible with the third-generation iPad, he posted a video (embedded below) to back up his claims.
Since the release of iOS 5.1.1 three days ago, on Monday, May 7th, pod2g and other developers in the iOS hacking community have been extraordinarily quiet regarding whether the iOS 5.1 untethered Jailbreak utility being developed will be compatible with Apple’s latest 5.1.1 firmware.
According to MuscleNerd, an instrumental developer in the iOS-hacking community and arguably the face of the iPhone Dev Team, the next Redsn0w release will introduce downgrade support for newer iOS-based devices!
