Microsoft Surface Pro Launches February 9th With $899 Starting Price


Microsoft Pro Surface About To LaunchToday, Microsoft announce that their forthcoming Surface Pro tablet, which is far superior to the almost three month old Surface RT tablet that made its debut last October. Originally scheduled to launch this month, the Surface Pro’s release was pushed back and will go on sale in the United States and Canada on February 9th.

Priced at $899 for the 64GB model and $999 for the higher-capcity 128GB version, the Surface Pro will serve not as a post-PC tablet, like the iPad, but will instead offer full-fledge computing features and functionality. Unlike its cheaper counterpart, the Surface Pro is capable of running actual Windows 8 and Windows 7 executable programs.

The Surface Pro is built with an Intel Core i5 processor with integrated Intel HD Graphics 4000, an upgraded battery over the RT edition, a 1920-by-1080 display and 4GB of RAM.

Microsoft prepares to release Surface Pro

Both the 64GB and 128GB Surface Pro models will ship with a Surface pen included, however the Touch and Type Covers will be sold separately – both retail for around $120.
