iPhone 5 And 4S Comparison Images Depict Decrease In Thickness

Apple iPhone 5 compared to iPhone 4SOver the past few weeks, iResQ (a well known repair firm) has been receiving and assembling various next-generation iPhone parts. Yesterday, the alleged iPhone 5 battery was pictured and compared to the older battery used in the iPhone 4S by iResQ.

The same site has also posted images of the supposed dock connector and flex cable assembly to be used in both the upcoming iPhone 5 and the rumored iPad Mini, as well as assembling various parts in a leaked iPhone 5 back housing.

Today, iResQ has added a front glass panel to their incomplete iPhone, to compare the non-functional device to the current iPhone 4S. While missing the most crucial component required to operate (the logic board) as well as several other parts, these images provide a great comparison between the two iPhones.

The two side-by-side images of the partially assembled iPhone 5 and the iPhone 4S depict a thinner and more compact design. According to past reports, the upcoming iPhone will measure approximately 7.6 mm thick – a total decrease in 18 percent from the iPhone 4S’ thickness of 9.3 mm.

NEW iPhone 5 and iPhone 4S

Apple is of course expected to reveal the iPhone 5 during this year’s September media event, which is scheduled for one week from today on Wednesday, September 12th. Stay tuned for complete coverage on Apple and their upcoming iPhone refresh.

Stop making it thinner and give us more battery life. They could have used the gained space and made the battery bigger. When you tether, use 4G, or use this bigger screen, you’re going to draw more power. It’s not all about size..

I’m glad to see the 5 will be even thinner, i just hope the “supposed” design is the actual true design.

Yeah, I’ve got to admit, it’s starting to grow on me as well. I didn’t care for it too much at first, but the more I think about it, the more it seems to make sense.

Yeah i was kind of unsure, specially since they only seemed to change the back for the device, but then i realized hey why fix what isn’t broken? people didnt like the glass back that shattered but they liked the rest of the device so they kept the basics and replaced the back with metal/aluminum.

Do you think the iphone 5 is going to be better then the Iphone 4 s? And Can you tell me the difference between beside from the model and screen?

Every generation iPhone has been better than it’s predecessor. It WILL have a better processor (A6 more than likely), the cameras will be better, more RAM, upgraded version of Siri (although the 4S’s version will probably be upgraded in a firmware update), 64GB option more than likely, and 4G network access. And I’m sure I forgot some things.
