Following numerous reports of a higher-capacity iPad, today Apple officially announced a new 128GB variation of their fourth-generation iPad: the latest model with a Retina Display.
‘With twice the storage capacity and an unparalleled selection of over 300,000 native iPad apps, enterprises, educators and artists have even more reasons to use iPad for all their business and personal needs.’
Apple is scheduled to release the 128GB capacity iPad next Tuesday, February 5th. The new model will be sold for a $100 premium over the 64GB iPads, which will set the price for the Wi-Fi-only version at $799 – the Wi-Fi + Cellular models will be averrable for $929.
Starting Tuesday, Apple will offer the full-sized iPad in four different capacity variations: 16GB, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB. However, it’s likely that Apple will soon discontinue the 16GB capacity iPad models with the release of the forthcoming fifth-generation iPad.
